Andries Brümmer
Managing Direct & Member
Andries Brümmer's life is a testament to the power of diverse passions converging into a remarkable whole. He stands as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, a profession demanding precision, analytical prowess, and unwavering dedication. Yet, alongside this, he has cultivated a deep and abiding love for choral music, a love that found its home within the esteemed Vox Chamber Choir.
Since 2017, Andries has been both a resonant Bass voice and the steady hand guiding the choir as its Manager. This dual role might seem like a study in contrasts, but for Andries, it's a natural symphony. His legal training, honed through years of specialising in South African Labour Law, provides a unique framework for his managerial duties. The meticulous attention to detail required in legal practice translates seamlessly into organising rehearsals, coordinating performances, and ensuring the choir's smooth operation.
Imagine the scene: Andries, in the courtroom, dissecting complex legal arguments with clarity and precision. Then, picture him in the rehearsal hall, his rich Bass voice blending with the other members of Vox, creating harmonies that fill the space. The same dedication that drives him to master legal intricacies fuels his commitment to achieving musical excellence.
His professional experience, particularly in dealing with ER and IR matters at King Price Insurance, has equipped him with invaluable skills in communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution. These skills are not confined to the boardroom; they resonate within the choir, fostering a harmonious and productive environment.
Beyond the legal and musical spheres, Andries's experience as a Managing Director of the Boholoholo Record label, and his director roles in other entities, highlights his ability to lead and organize. This is a man who understands how to bring structure to creative endeavours.
In essence, Andries Brummer brings more than just a Bass voice to the Vox Chamber Choir. He brings a unique blend of legal acumen, managerial expertise, and a profound love for music. He is a testament to how diverse talents can harmonise, creating a richer and more vibrant whole.
