Singing in Kroon van Wonders has been a deeply spiritual and transformative experience. Each rehearsal felt like an encounter with the divine, with Franco guiding us through music that touches both heart and soul. From the emotional depth of “Vrou, waarom ween jy?” to the symbolic richness of Peter’s threefold response, every moment carried profound meaning. LIG | KRUIS | KROON: The Story of Glorification Through Suffering

LIG | KRUIS | KROON is a contemporary triptych that reimagines the Passion of Christ through suffering transformed into glory. Inspired by Claude Mellan’s engravings and the Japanese art of Kintsugi, I bruised the prints with thorns, then healed them with gold leaf. Each panel reflects a phase in Christ’s journey—agony, crucifixion, resurrection—revealing how brokenness, like His, can be redeemed into something beautiful and divine.
